Health and social care professionals can refer clients directly to Essex Sight using our secure online referral form.

Our referral process is simple, confidential, and designed to connect people to the support they need as quickly as possible. Once received, our team will contact the individual to arrange an appointment at their nearest Sight Centre, a home visit, or provide information about assistive technology and local services.

Suitable referrals include:

  • Newly diagnosed vision impairment

  • People experiencing significant changes to their sight

  • Individuals who may benefit from technology, daily living support, or peer connection

  • Patients or clients who require emotional support alongside practical guidance

Referral Guidelines

To help us provide the best possible service, please ensure your referral includes:

  • Full contact details for the individual being referred

  • GP or healthcare provider contact information

  • Consent from the individual (or their legal guardian)

  • Relevant medical or social history that may affect support needs
